Grit bins for public footpaths
This winter Gildersome Parish Council has secured five new grit bins to placed around the village to help make Gildersome a safer and less slippery place when the bad weather arrives. The point of these bins is to help keep footpaths and pavements free from ice and snow this winter. Winter is a difficult time for those in our community who have difficulty getting around, so if you can help with clearing a length of footpath it would be appreciated by everyone.
Please note that the grit in the bins is a community resource and is only to be used for clearing public footpaths, pavements and roads to ensure that everyone, especially the most vulnerable, is able to get out and about. If you need grit to use on private land like driveways or garden paths, please buy your own before it's too late!
Three of the bins have already been delivered and two more are to follow. Please see the map below to find out where they are.
